Summary
The power consumption of a wine cabinet will depend on the size and model of the wine cabinet for a number of reasons. Read on to learn how to reduce consumption in your wine cabinet.
The power consumption of a wine cooler is typically around 90-200 watts per hour. However, the exact power consumption will depend on the size and model of the wine cooler, as well as the ambient temperature in the room. Some larger or more advanced models may have higher power consumption, while smaller or more energy-efficient models may have lower power consumption. It is important to check the specifications of the particular wine cooler you are considering to determine its power consumption.
How to Reduce the Consumption of Wine Coolers?
1. Minimize the Number of Times Opening and Closing the Door
As soon as the door is opened, you can feel the cold air leaking out, which will definitely cause the temperature inside the wine cooler to rise. As a result, the compression works for a long time reaches the set temperature, and increases power consumption.
2. Set the Same Temperature Throughout the Year
Electronic temperature control generally has a range. The compressor will automatically stop after reaching the set temperature, while the temperature range of the mechanical temperature control gear is narrow. If the starting time is long due to high gear, the gear can be lowered, and the starting time will be significantly shortened. If the freezer is normally used at -18℃ instead of -22℃, 30% of electricity consumption can be saved.
When the refrigerator reaches -18℃, the internal temperature of the refrigerator should change with the seasons and the outside temperature. The higher the constant temperature gear, the harder it is to lower the temperature. The colder it is, the harder it is to cool down, but the lowest temperature in continuous operation can reach below -24℃. At this time, due to the large temperature difference between inside and outside, the start-up time is very long and even the cooling capacity loss is large without stopping.
3. Do Not Place the Wine Cooler Near the Heat Source, and the Ambient Temperature Should Not Be Too High
The ambient temperature has a direct impact on the power consumption of the wine cooler. As the ambient temperature rises, the temperature inside the wine cooler drops slowly, which will result in a longer start-up time and increased power consumption.
According to the analysis of ordinary experimental data, when the ambient temperature reaches 32℃, the power consumption is about twice that of 25℃, and the power consumption at 30℃ is 1.6~1.8 times that of 25℃. Therefore, it should be placed as far away from heat sources as possible, preferably in a ventilated and cool place. In summer, some people like to put the wine cooler in a sunny place at the door, which will consume a lot of electricity.
4. Regularly Clean the Wine Cooler
First of all, we need to clean the filter screen of the wine cooler regularly, once every 2-3 weeks. Remove the panel, pull out the air filter, and clean the air filter. Clean the air filter under the tap. Since the filter is made of a plastic frame and polyester filament, it cannot be washed with hot water above 40℃ to prevent shrinkage and deformation. Do not bake with fire after cleaning. The water from the filter can be spin-dried or dried naturally, and then inserted into the panel for installation.
The condenser fins of the wine cooler should be cleaned of dust. The heat sink of the condenser is made by inserting a 0.12mm aluminum sheet into the copper tube and expanding the tube. It cannot withstand a collision. If the heat sink is damaged, it will affect the heat exchange effect of the wine cooler and reduce the cooling (heating) efficiency.
Pay attention to protecting the refrigeration system of the wine cooler. If the components or connecting pipes of the refrigeration system are damaged, the refrigerant will leak and the wine cooler will not be able to cool.
5. Do Not Put Hot Things in the Wine Cooler
If you put hot items into the wine cooler, it will cause the temperature inside the wine cooler to rise and increase power consumption. If conditions permit, the best way is to wait for it to cool naturally to room temperature before putting it in the wine cooler.
